A high school algebra teacher of mine taught me something profound twenty years ago.
It’s frankly one of only a few things of value I can actually recall learning in high school.
Every marking period, we would start anew, and he would say…
“Today is Tabula Rasa Day.”
Tabula Rasa is a Latin phrase that translates as “Clean Slate”
To us as students it represented an opportunity at a new start academically.
Most students wrote it off as just another day to trudge through but a select few took it to heart.
- If your grades were poor you could study and turn them around.
- If your performance on the field was lacking you could practice harder.
- If your attendance wasn’t great you could stop faking colds and show up.
How great would be it be as an adult to have a Tabula Rasa Day?!
Well there in lies the beauty of being conscious adults…
You can make any day you want Tabula Rasa Day!
